IT ALL STARTED WITH A need TO SPEND MORE TIME OUTSIDE.
It's no secret that the past few years have been tough on everyone. We have been friends for years and share a love of modern design. One of our partners who's an amazing blacksmith, designed a modern, good looking fire pit for us both. That's where it all started. When we made our first fire pit - our relationship to being outdoors changed - completely. It allowed us to get outside even on the coldest winter nights, in Canada.
People do better together.
Our fire pits allowed friends and neighbours to gather outside. It started around a warm fire, then blankets were added and lighting was hung. Warm beverages extended the evenings. And everytime we gathered, people didn't want it to end. It became a central meeting place where incredible moments and memories with new and old friends were made. And it sparked a desire to celebrate outdoors in weather we never could have imagined.

"We are inspired by modern Scandinavian design and how they embrace being outside all year round. We also love the beauty of Canada and felt it was time to take great design outside. So, we set out to create a brand of our own, and we call it : Big Wide Outside."

A collection for outside
Together, we are creating the perfect collection to style a modern outdoor space by designing our own line of firepits, graphic blankets and blackened charcuterie boards. The curation of other premium products like portable lighting from Germany and outdoor dishware from France and Japan - help to round out the Big Wide Outside collection. We are only getting started!

We use all natural materials like these 100% cotton blankets that are made in Portugal. We make small batches at a time to make sure they are super soft and warm.
